Cataloging places you might trip and fall
While standing in front of my office building, I noticed that people tend to trip and fall in the same places. These walking hazards were not always insidious failures of public upkeep; small things, like a step in the pavement or a narrowing of usable sidewalk space were enough to induce fairly regular stumbling.
Red Bank Walking Hazards is a project to catalog and classify all the places where someone is likely to trip and fall in Red Bank, NJ. It's not cautionary: the site is neither intended nor set up to prevent or rectify the walking hazards; it purely to classify the hazards post-incident, and, if one is so inclined, to assist a hazard watcher on a safari of pedestrian peril.
The site includes a visitor-upload function that allows hazard-victims to share their discovery so that others might appreciate, but not necessarily avoid, their fate.
